Locating  and Identifying Cemeteries

 An Ongoing Project.

In 1997 the Lamar County Genealogical and Historical Society voted an on-going project to locate and identify unmarked cemeteries in the county. Funds were donated and membership dues were used to finance the $5100 for 19 marble markers and 43 road signs.

Since 1997, many have given their time soliciting donations and making donations; installing markers and signs; reclaiming over-grown cemeteries; indexing cemeteries; repairing damaged markers and installing new veteran markers donated by the Veteran’s Dept. We appreciate ALL supporters
